Online betting apps have been causing turmoil in many families. Many people, especially youngsters, are becoming addicted to these apps, leading to financial debt. In some cases, individuals have resorted to taking their own lives, unable to repay the debts.
In one such instance, an entire family tried committing suicide in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. Getting into details, the victim Nagaraj Reddy, hailed from Gangadhara Nellore village of the Chittoor district.
He was an online betting app addict, which eventually made him borrow money from various sources. As time passed, he was unable to repay debts and was stuck in severe financial trouble.
As he was unable to get out of the debt, he decided to commit suicide along with his family members. Nagaraj Reddy, his wife and two children consumed pesticides to take their own lives.
After knowing the incident, neighbours immediately rushed them to the hospital. While Nagaraj and his wife lost their lives, the children’s condition is critical. The local police are currently investigating the case.
