The Quantum Valley is being developed with inspiration from Silicon Valley in the US. The aim is to position Andhra Pradesh on the global map for quantum computing. The initiative marks a major step towards a technology-driven future for the state.

For the initial phase, the government has allotted 50 acres of land for the project. This space will serve as the foundation for a large-scale quantum ecosystem in the region.

A key highlight is the installation of the first 133 qubit quantum computer in Andhra Pradesh. Leading technology companies such as IBM, TCS, and L&T will play a crucial role in the project’s development.

The Quantum Valley will focus on advanced areas such as quantum computing, quantum communications, and quantum sensors. Research will also extend to artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.

In addition, the project will support research in cyber security, defense, healthcare, and finance. These sectors are expected to benefit significantly from quantum-based innovations.

The Andhra Pradesh government plans to complete the Quantum Valley building by August, 2026. The quantum computer is expected to be installed by December, 2026.

CM Chandrababu shared on his X account that February 7 will remain a historic day for the people of Andhra Pradesh. He said the journey that began in the 1990s by putting combined AP on the global map has now evolved into making AP a global hub for quantum computing.

According to the Chief Minister, February 7 marks a new chapter in India’s history. He stated that Amaravati will emerge as a centre for cutting-edge quantum computing. He added that the day will be remembered for transforming the state’s future.
