This is one of the main reasons why the central government of India including Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been focussed on enhancing their social media base.

Now the government of Andhra Pradesh is doing something more consolidated to this effect as they are looking to mainstream the procedure of utilising social media influencers for PR purposes.

The government anyway spends a lot of money on print and digital press PR each year in order to publicise the activities and implementations. This has been the traditional procedure for all these years.

But now the government of Andhra Pradesh, under the leadership of Chandrababu has decided to mainstream social media influencers in this category. This topic came to discussion at the cabinet meeting in front of the CM today, and it reportedly received a positive reaction.

It is evident that the governments are believing that social media can very much make a break a government these days. So there is rationality in mainstreaming the aspect of including social media influencing in the PR sector of the governance.

This could provide livelihood to social media influencers, while also making this a reasonable profession for all sections of the public. But it has to be seen how the government would actually approach this mechanism as this is unprecedented system and needs a lot of scrutiny.
