The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has approved four new police commissionerates in Rajamahendravaram, Guntur, Tirupati and Kurnool.
The decision aims to improve policing, coordination and security in growing urban areas. However, better staffing, clear jurisdiction and proper infrastructure will be key to making the new system effective.
The Cabinet also approved ₹1,548 crore for infrastructure works in villages across the Amaravati capital region. Another ₹644.98 crore was sanctioned for Amaravati development.
The Assembly building’s spire, roof and lift works received an allocation of ₹661 crore.
The government also approved changes to ensure minimum annual annuity payments for farmers who gave their land under the Land Pooling Scheme.
The decisions highlight the government’s focus on policing, Amaravati development and support for land-pooling farmers. The real impact will depend on how effectively these approvals are implemented.
