
The latest development in illegal quartz mining case is the emergence of a new name. YSRCP ex minister from Potti Sreeramulu Nellore district, Anil Kumar Yadav, is making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
It is known that the police arrested Anil’s follower Biradavolu Srikanth Reddy in Hyderabad on Monday. He is said to have revealed various vital clues regarding the case.
It is known that another YSRCP ex minister Kakani Goverdhan Reddy is already in remand in illegal mining of quartz case. Srikanth Reddy has said that he had business relations with Anil Kumar Yadav and Kakani. He further said that they were together in quartz business since August, 2023.
Though the lease ended, we mined quartz from Rustom mine. Vakati Sivareddy, Vakati Srinivas Reddy looked after quarry works. I was given Rs 1000 per tonne for supervision. We would dump quartz in Enugu Sasidhar Reddy’s farm. We had an agreement to give him Rs 25,000 per acre, Srikanth Reddy told the police.
We would send the quartz from Rustom mine to China. It was exported through Duvvara Srikanth Reddy. With the money, we did real estate business. I and Anil did two ventures. One 100 acre venture in Gudur and another 50 acre venture near Naidupeta.
In Hyderabad, we started two housing projects. One was Heavenly Homes in Manikonda’s Alkapuri and Green Meadows in Turkayanjal. After the government changed in 2024, I was scared and shifted base to Hyderabad, Srikanth Reddy is said to have told the police.
If the police finds clues, then it won’t be long before they reach Anil Kumar Yadav.
