A debate over the liquor policy is currently taking place in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council.
MLC Duvvada Srinu has criticized the state’s liquor policy, raising concerns about its impact and implementation.
In his defense, Minister Kollu Ravindra asserted that Andhra Pradesh has the best liquor policy in the country.
He pointed out that a committee has been established to review and set appropriate liquor rates, noting that liquor prices in the state are lower than in many other regions.
Minister Ravindra also addressed concerns related to the previous government’s liquor policy, stating that a vigilance inquiry has already been completed and that the CBCID (Crime Branch Criminal Investigation Department) is conducting further investigations.
He alleged that the previous administration was involved in a massive scam, claiming a theft of Rs. 18,000 crores linked to liquor sales.
Ravindra promised that the masterminds behind the alleged liquor scam would be uncovered and brought to justice. He emphasized that strict action would be taken against anyone found involved in the malpractice.
His statements highlight the ongoing political tension and allegations of corruption surrounding the management of the state’s liquor policy, with the current government positioning itself as committed to transparency and accountability.
