The 80s seem to be back in Tollywood. A trend that started on social media has now slowly entered film promotions too. Actors are trying vintage looks, while movie teams are coming up with posters that have the feel of an old Telugu film.
And there are quite a few examples already.
Kaaka recently came up with an 80s-style poster. Antha Ramuloru Chusukuntaru also went with a similar look. The team of January 12 Vidudala joined the trend with its latest poster as well.
These are not the only ones. Several other actors and film teams have been sharing 80s-inspired pictures and promotional material. Old hairstyles, costumes, poses and the typical photography of that period are making a comeback on social media.
The timing is also interesting. The 80s remain one of the most loved periods in Telugu cinema, with several stars and films from the decade still remembered by audiences.
Now, that same look is turning up again, this time across social media and movie promotions. Tollywood clearly seems to be in the mood for the 80s.
