AP Bhavan Division to Be Complete next Week?

The historic Andhra Bhavan is all set for the division. The first meeting on the issue will happen on 23rd of this month. The Chief Secretaries of both the states will sit with the Union Home Ministry Official to divide the asset in Population Ratio. Telangana has laid the stake on the AP Bhavan in Delhi saying that the land belongs to Hyderabad State in 1953 and the Government of India took it from Nizam.

Telangana government argued that all the Nizam assets belong to Telangana state. But on August 30th, Union Home Ministry turned down the claim saying that all the assets outside both the states will have to be decided in Population ratio, according to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act and there can not be any deviation on that.

If Telangana does not raise any last minute objections, Andhra Bhavan Assets division may be completed in the first meeting itself. Andhra Bhavan is present in a sprawling 20 acres area in the prime location of the National Capital. Currently, it is being used by both the state governments after the state bifurcation.
