AP Power to be counter productive for TS!

Telangana state and Telangana Rashtra Samiti is bashing Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for depriving the new state power by cancelling the PPAs. However it is said that the state will be on losing side if the existing PPAs with APGenco are allowed to continue beyond certain period.

It is said that the power purchases from AP will prove to be very expensive, especially from the Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station at Krishnapatnam and the upcoming Unit IV of the Rayalaseema Thermal Power Project (RTPP) in Kadapa district.

Officials say the power rates there are going as high as 7.26 Rupees which is a big burden. They add that the power from Telangana’s Kakatiya Thermal Power Project at Warangal and Singareni Collieries project coming up at Adilabad will be relatively cheaper.
