AP-TS: Who Will Have the Final Laugh?

The Ease of Doing Business Rankings given by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion in the Central government are keeping both the Telugu States on their toes. Last year, we have seen Andhra Pradesh coming at Rank 2 and Telangana at Rank 13 which triggred a competition between both the governments.

Telangana government took special care to better their ranking this year and at one time, even filed a case alleging that AP government is copying their data which is being submitted to the DIPP. The department is evaluating the data submitted by the states and is publishing the rankings every day. It looks like a tug of war game with rankings jumbling every day.

The latest rankings indicate that Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are in the first two ranks in the list. Interestingly, Telangana is just one hundredth (96.98%) of a percentage point ahead of the arch rival Andhra Pradesh (96.97). The submissions of the state are still being validated and marks assigned, so the positions may be altered further. It has to be seen who will have the final laugh?
