CRDA Takes Serious Steps on Invts in Amaravati

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) is prioritizing the establishment of institutions in Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh. Land has been allocated to 130 institutions, both central and state government-owned. A special unit within the CRDA is actively engaging with these institutions to discuss the timeline for their establishment and commencement of operations.

As of now, CRDA sources indicate that 80% of the institutions have given positive feedback on setting up their offices. However, clarity is still awaited from more than 25 institutions, some of which had moved out due to threats during the previous YSRCP government.

In total, 1,660 acres have been allotted for the establishment of these institutions, valued at Rs. 677.10 crore. The respective organizations have already made payments amounting to Rs. 546 crore during the tenure of the previous TDP government, with Rs. 131 crore still pending.

Among the 45 central organizations allocated land in the capital, 40 have expressed their willingness to commence operations. The CRDA expects to have complete clarity on the institutions that will be set up in Amaravati within the next week.

Following this, steps will be taken to initiate construction and other operational activities within two months. This development is crucial for the progress and growth of Amaravati as the state capital, enhancing its infrastructure and institutional presence.
