The vacation bench hearing the petition expressed a lack of conviction with the government’s plan as outlined in the affidavit. The Government has informed the court that it will take all possible measures by not allowing more than 15-18 students in an examination hall.
“In that case, you may need 28,000 to 35,000 exam halls. Also, you will need the same number of invigilators. Do you have any “concrete formula” to ensure the availability of so many exam halls? We are not convinced with the commitment you are making,” the court said.
“All the other boards have canceled the exams. What is your problem? Are you trying to show you are different? There is no specific timeline for exams and results. You can’t keep things so uncertain like this? You have to give at least 15 days’ notice. ” the court questioned.
“Admissions of AP will also be delayed due to this delay in the conduct of exams. What happens if the Pandemic worsens in the middle of exams? In case of any fatality, you will be held responsible. We will not allow you until we are convinced with your plan”, the bench warned. The court will make a decision about it tomorrow (April 25th) at 2 PM.
