Andra Pradesh’s Congress President YS Sharmila filed her nomination today. YS Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Suneetha Reddy accompanied Sharmila during her nomination.
Sharmila is contesting for the MP seat from the Kadapa constituency. She is competing against her cousin YS Avinash Reddy, who is representing YSR Congress Party.
In her affidavit, Sharmila revealed she owns assets worth Rs. 182.82 crore. She declared movable assets worth Rs.123. 26 crore in her name and Rs. 45.19 crore in her husband Anil’s name.
It is rumored that Sharmila has revolted against her brother after she was denied her rightful share in their father’s properties. But then, Sharmila had loans payable to Jagan. She took a loan of Rs. 82.58 crore from her brother YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Rs. 19.56 crore from Jagan’s wife Bharati Reddy. On the whole, Sharmila owes more than 102 crores to her brother and sister-in-law.
There are immovable assets of worth Rs. 9.29 crore under Sharmila and Rs. 4.05 crore under her husband. Sharmila and Anil’s liabilities are valued at Rs. 82.77 crore and Rs. 35.81 crore respectively.
Sharmila owns gold jewellery worth Rs. 3.69 crores and gemstone jewellery worth Rs. 4.61 crores. Her husband has gold jewellery worth Rs. 81.6 lakhs and gemstone jewellery worth Rs. 42.6 lakhs.
Sharmila declared that she has eight pending criminal cases against her, including the Election Commission’s Model Code of Conduct violation.
