At Least Do Some Home Work, Somu!

BJP President Somu Veerraju has called for a Pressmeet defending the Union Budget tabled in the Parliament the other day. He made some ridiculous claims about what the Narendra Modi Government did for Polavaram Project.

“Polavaram is 89% completed, according to the State Government. YSR only dug canals for Polavaram. Modi Government started the project in 2018 and in just four years, completed 80% of the project works,” Somu Veerraju announced. According to a recent RTI reply, the Polavaram project is around 76% complete.

Less than 5% of work has been done after the 2019 elections. The works have progressed very well when Chandrababu Naidu is in power. Both Jagan and Modi Governments lost interest in it later. He should have reached out to the central government led by his own party or filed an RTI application himself to know the facts.

It is funny how Somu Veerraju arrived at these calculations – 89% complete, 80% works in four years, etc. It looks like he is so disturbed seeing the budget the other day.
