Telugu Desam party had the luxury of being served by some of the senior most leaders in Andhra Pradesh politics. The party still has the continuous support from leaders who had been with them since the NTR days.

And one such a leader who holds seniority and adequate respect is Ayyannapatrudu. He had been with Telugu Desam party for more than four decades now and is widely respected within the party ranks.

In tune with this, he was adequately respected by Chandrababu Naidu as he was handed over the speaker position after the 2024 election.

But this veteran politician has decided that it is time to take a break from politics as he has communicated that he would be stepping away after three years.

The veteran confirmed that he would not be contesting the next election in 2029, as he has decided to step away from politics and rest well at this ripe age of 70+. So this would essentially be his last term in the office and would be retiring subsequently.

This must be a happy exit for Ayyannapatrudu, as he is currently serving as the speaker of the house which is a respected position. And along with that, his son Vijay, who is also a crucial member for the TDP received Rajya Sabha nomination and is currently serving as an MP.

With everything looking sorted, it must be possibly the best time for the veteran to happily retire from politics and rest well at this age.
