The TDP-led alliance is highlighting its development record in Hindupur, represented by actor and MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna, as it campaigns for the upcoming municipal elections in Sri Sathya Sai district.
According to local reports, the alliance is claiming an advantage in the municipal contest, citing development activities and its political presence in the constituency. However, these assessments are not supported by independently verified voter surveys.
Development works worth around Rs 500 crore have reportedly been undertaken or proposed in Hindupur, including Rs 100 crore for basic infrastructure. The figures have become part of the ruling alliance’s campaign, although the expenditure and completion status require official confirmation.
TDP candidate P.S. Manjunath is contesting the municipal chairperson position on behalf of the TDP-Jana Sena-BJP alliance. He had earlier filed his nomination and received the party’s B-form.
The alliance is seeking public support by highlighting Balakrishna’s development initiatives and the government’s work in the constituency. Local leaders are also focusing on coordination among the three alliance partners.
Meanwhile, AIMIM has fielded Imran Basha for the chairperson position, adding another candidate to the contest.
While local reports suggest the TDP alliance is confident about its position, the actual level of public support will become clear only through the election results.
