Bangalore may lose sheen in IT with CBN at helm?

Even before swearing in as Chief Minister, Chandra Babu Naidu is busy having consultations about officials chalking out a plan for the Seema Andhra development. Many have reportedly suggested to develop IT hub in drought prone Anantapur area due to its close proximity to Bangalore International Airport. Also Chandra Babu is planning to concentrate on Software and Hardware industries in Rayalaseema due to the easy availability of lands and cheaper rates.

On the other side, there are concerns from IT industry in Bangalore that with Chandra Babu Naidu at the helm, the city may lose its sheen. They say it is not that Bangalore will suffer moving of industries but the growth over a period of time will be slowed down. The tax relaxation available in Seema Andhra and IT friendly image of Chandra Babu may be tempting factors for IT industry to try out Seema Andhra.

Bangalore’s IT industry exports are worth $11.6 billion, while Hyderabad’s have reached $4.7 billion. Hyderabad’s performance will certainly attributed to Chandra Babu Naidu’s special care on this industry in late 90s and early 2000s. With growth and development slowed down in Hyderabad for the last 10 years, Bangalore’s IT industry is more or less in very comfortable position.
