Banks finding Cell numbers instead of A/C numbers!

The identification of beneficiaries for Loan Waiver scheme in Andhra Pradesh seem to be a never ending process. The bankers are taking too long to identify the beneficiaries and give the lists to the government according to the prescribed criteria. The beneficiaries identification is taking heavy toll on the bankers and they have engged college students for the data entry work of the beneficiaries. However, critical mistakes have crept in the data entry with some of the students entered the account holders’ cellphone numbers and even bank balance figures instead of bank account numbers.

In the scrutiny of the beneficiaries list, it is identified that around 16.21 lakh account numbers mismatched taking the entire exercise backward every time. The bankers have already defaulted the most recent deadline (27th October) to submit the data and now are given three more days to submit the list (October 30th). But the bankers openly say it is impossible to submit the final days in three days time and the entire loan waiver may take more time accordingly.
