Bapatla MP Seat: Chandrababu Mishandled

Former IPS Officer T Krishna Prasad is announced as the TDP’s candidate for the Bapatla Parliament constituency. Krishna Prasad has been a Telangana BJP leader for the last two years and is also the party’s spokesperson there.

He expected the Secunderabad Cantonment ticket in recent Assembly elections. BJP initially promised to give but gave the ticket to another leader at the last minute. He wanted to contest for Warangal Parliament but suddenly reached out to Chandrababu Naidu and requested the Bapatla ticket.

The problem started here.

Byreddy Sabari, a BJP leader previously also got the TDP ticket from Nandyala but there is no problem with her because she joined the TDP in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu a few days before the announcement.

Krishna Prasad’s Twitter account mentions that he is a Modi fan and he added (Modi Ka Parivar) in his Display name. His Timeline is full of BJP tweets and Retweets of Modi’s tweets. His username also has BJP.

In fact, Krishna Prasad did not even tweet thanking Chandrababu for accepting his candidature.

BJP and YSR Congress supporters are having a field day mocking TDP that it lacks candidates and so is giving tickets to the BJP leaders.

Krishna Prasad changed his Username and removed ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ from the Display name. The ‘Modi Fan’ remains in the Bio and there is no Tweet thanking Chandrababu Naidu.

TDP supporters are fuming at this selection. They are lamenting why MS Raju a committed TDP leader was ignored for Bapatla Parliament.

This gives the impression that the BJP is going to get beyond the six MPs it was given by fielding its candidates on Cycle Symbol. Also, the YSR Congress will use this and say that TDP has got no candidates.

It is a joke that TDP has no candidates and is taking from the BJP in Andhra Pradesh. But YSR Congress’s Propaganda machines are as such.

This situation should have easily been avoided if Krishna Prasad joined TDP officially.
