Bharat Ratna To NTR: Laudable Act But Laughable Strategy!

There are certain media reports that the BJP-led Central Government is considering giving Bharat Ratna to NT Ramarao posthumously. They say it is a continuation of Late AB Vajpayee’s thought.

The intention is to get closer to TDP’s vote Bank with this. Janasena has indicated that it will want to contest with TDP in the upcoming elections.

BJP had a secret understanding with Jagan Mohan Reddy and can not join the alliance for obvious reasons. So this is a plan to bring a divide in TDP’s Votebank.

If NT Ramarao is given the Bharat Ratna, his widow, Lakshmi Parvathi will receive the award. So, TDP and Nandamuri family will not have any stakes in the award. So, the BJP feels this is a safe decision.

Giving Bharat Ratna to NT Ramarao is laudable and long due but then, expecting that it will bring votes is a joke. BJP state unit should focus on building its cadre and work on ground to impress people than anything else.
