Bhogapuram international airport in Vizianagaram will be completed in a year. Bhogapuram will find a place on the world map once the airport is completed. Thanks to this, the surrounding areas are seeing major developments.
The government had given 80 acres to the tourism department in the past. Of this, 40 acres was given to My Care Group and 40 acres were given to the Oberoi Group. 5-star hotels are coming up in the Bhogapuram-Bhimili districts.
The cottages constructed along Chintapally beach have been given to AP Scuba Diving Association. Adjoining the airport, the GMR Group has decided to build to a 5-star hotel with Rs 500 crore. A Rs 150 crore convention center is being planned near the airport. In Bhimili, the Taj Group is planning a project.
On one side of the airport is Number 16 highway. On the otherside is the sea, making it a special attraction. VMRDA along with other government organisations will be laying 15 link roads. More star hotels are being planned near Anandapuram and Tagarapuvalasa.
500 acres have been given to GMR Group. They are in plans to build a township like in Delhi in some acres. The government is planning to set up an IT company near the airport in 100 acres.
A MSME Park will also come up in 23 acres. Engineering and fabricating units will be set up there. Divi’s Group will be setting up a logistics hub in 10 acres.
Already, realtors have made layouts near Bhogapuram airport. Townships will be developed in Bhogapuram, Pusapatirega, Tagarapuvalasa and Anandapuram. The plan is to complete a few before the airport becomes operational.
