Two Rivals, Two Different Times, Exactly Same Handling

BJP and Congress are born rivals as we all know. The enemity only increased as BJP grew from the strength of just 2 MPs to ruling India on its own. However there is a stark similarity between the operations of both the parties at least when it comes to Telugu Politics. Congress is very well aware that Telangana is imminent before 2014 elections.

However they sat on the decision till the last minute. Telangana did not lap the party while Andhra Pradesh washed it out of the state. If the timing has been good, the party would have been saved at least in Telangana back then. It came as a blessing in disguise for KCR who lapped the oppurtunity with both the hands.

BJP is also exhibiting a similar stance over Special Status issue. Like how Congress passed the bifurcation bill blacking out Lok Sabha Live coverage, BJP took a non-issue in Rajya Sabha the other day and stopped voting on the Private Member Bill. However the party is most certain to come up with Special status/Special Package some time later.

The worst scenario would be just before 2019 elections. But then, nothing could save the party in Andhra Pradesh. People have already started seeing BJP and Congress on the same level. In Simple words, BJP killed its prospects in Andhra Pradesh just as how Congress did in the case of AP and Telangana in 2014.
