Botsa All Set For An Electoral Comeback?

Botsa Satyanarayana’s family is one of the most powerful political families in the Telugu States. In the last elections, Congress fielded Botsa Satyanarayana from Cheepurupalli Assembly segment in Vizianagaram and his wife Botsa Jhansi contested from the Vizianagaram LS seat, they had lost both the seats due to the anti-congress wave in the state due to the state bifurcation.

Later Botsa joined YSR Congress and is trying to revive his political career by fielding his wife for the upcoming Greater Vishakapatnam Municipal Corporation. Botsa is already sending messages to party leaders about the same. The elections are likely to be held by the end of this year and YSR Congress is already in a hunt to identify suitable candidates with finance and a strong community and cadre base.

Botsa’s wife may be the best bet for the party’s mayor candidature as the mayor election would witness the money power as candidates from any party has to spend around Rs 20 crore to Rs 25 crore for the election since the city has vast extent with the merged areas. But then Jagan is yet to ratify Botsa Jhansi’s candidature.
