BRS Going Back To TRS? Will It Happen?

Former chief minister of Telangana KCR was very ambitious before the 2023 Telangana assembly election as he had national politics dreams. He even changed the name of Telangana Rashtra Samiti to Bharathi Rashtra Samiti in order to have a national appeal.

But this did not end well as BRS did not just have to prematurely end the national politics dream, but even lost the power in Telangana as well. And moreover, many of the party supporters believed that the fundamental appeal to the Telangana population got erased with the party switching the name to BRS.

And for a while, now there have been several demands internally within the BRS to go back to the old name of TRS. The matter has clearly reached the top leadership of the party as KTR himself has commented on the same now.

While interacting with the BRS cadres today, KTR put it out that the party is internally considering the idea of going back to TRS name and a decision might be made shortly.

It turns out to be that the party leadership has understood that maintaining a strong base in Telangana is more important than national politics dreams. This could potentially signal a change in the name from BRS to TRS which could presumably happen before the 2028 Assembly election.
