CAG Report: AP Wasted Rs 6356 Cr

The Comptroller and Auditor General of India has submitted a new report on the fiscal trouble the state of Andhra Pradesh is going through and here’s a look into the same.

The CAG has stated that the government of Andhra Pradesh has wasted Rs 6356 crores in Center funds.

The report stated that AP got Rs 6356 crores in center-funded grants but these weren’t utilized by the state government on time and they’re useless now.

The report goes on to add that the government of Andhra Pradesh owes over Rs 24,257 crores in debts when compared to last year.

This financial report is prepared after analysing the state finances till the 31st of March, 2022. It covers state revenue, transport, and fiscal management factors.

At a time when the state government is already struggling with weak finances, it is strange to hear that a whopping Rs 6356 crores of center funds were wasted last year.
