CBI Arrests Hyderabad News Channel’s Top Brass

Quite an interesting twist has taken place in the Delhi liquor scam case. In its latest strike, the CBI has arrested a news channel employee. They arrested Aravind Singh, who was working as the channel production controller in the Hyderabad-based India Ahead news channel.

The CBI has found out that Rs 17 crore was diverted by Singh to South Group. During their inquiry, the CBI could find the link as to how the money was transferred through Hawala channels during the Goa elections. The company that was campaigning for Aam Aadmi Party for the elections received Rs 17 crore via Singh. The CBI also laid hands upon WhatsApp chats and call records with Hawala operators.

Singh was involved in the transfer during the period of June 2021 and January 2022 to the company that was handling outdoor campaigning for AAP. As CBI found chats to this effect, they arrested Singh.

The CBI will now present him in front of a special court, and there is a likelihood that CBI will ask for Singh’s custody for further investigations. The CBI officials stated that if they grill Aravind Singh, more names will fall out of the closet.
