Politically unemployed leaders in both the Telugu States are in for a big shock from the center. Ruling parties in the states are admitting leaders with out caring for their accommodation plans since the center had promised to increase the assembly seats in both the Telugu states.
But center today in Lok Sabha announced that the increase of the Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will not be possible until 2026. According to Article 170, the delimitation can be done only in 2026 after the population census is done.
The Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act promised to increase the Assembly seats from 175 to 225 in AP and 119 to 153 in Telangana. Until now parties are expecting that center will amend Article 170 to carry out the promise. TRS will be most affected as the party almost have 2-3 aspirants for every seat.
