Center to Bring Cheer to Naidu and KCR?

Reports coming from TDP sources suggest that BJP led Central government is in the favour of increasing the Assembly segments in both the Telugu States. As of now, under every MP segment, there are seven Assembly segments. The ruling parties in both the states are urging to increase them to nine which will take the MLA seats in AP to 225 (175 now) and in Telangana to 153 (119 now).

BJP Local Leadership is urging the center not to increase the count as it will not help the party. But then, BJP leadership reportedly was convinced by TDP Supremo Chandrababu Naidu. He took up the matter recently with BJP President Amit Shah and managed to convince the latter. They say the Center will begin the exercise very soon.

Article 170 says that the Assembly seats across all the states in the country will not be touched until 2026 and that needs to be amended now. AP Reorganization Act has the mention of increasing the MLA seats. Increasing the seats will help political parties to accommodate more number of aspirants. Particularly the ruling parties will have huge demand for tickets in the next elections
