The Andhra Pradesh High Court has said that it will look into the matter of land allocations to Lulu Group, only after the GO is challenged in Court. It said that for a comprehensive investigation, PIL won’t do.
The High Court asked the petitioner to directly challenge the Government Order (GO) with regards to land allocation to Lulu Group in Vijayawada.
The Court said it will take up the matter of land allocation in Vizag and Vijayawada, when the GO is questioned. The HC gave these directives while hearing the PIL filed by Vizag-based lawyer, Pakala Satyanarayana.
In his PIL, Satyanarayana asked for the cancellation of GO 45, which allotted land to Lulu Group. The AP government had granted 13.74 acres of prime land to Lulu without any proper bidding process, violating CRZ norms, in Vizag, he claimed.
The counsel for the petitioner said that the land allotted in Vijayawada was also given away without following the bidding process.
The Court adjourned the hearing of the PIL to next week. It reiterated its commitment to conduct an inquiry into land deals.
