Naidu Embarks on yet Another Land Challenge?

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who created history by completing 33000 acres of land pooling in a very short time and most peacefully, is embarking on yet another challenge. This is to collect about 26890 acres for the road connectivity from Rayalaseema to Amaravati. The Land if acquired through the Land Acquisition will cost 2000 Crore to the state exchequer.

The government is thinking on the lines to execute it through Land Pooling which is not easy but affordable to the cash-strapped state. This highway will be partly Six Lane and Partly Four Lane and will shorten the distance of Rayalaseema to the Capital significantly. The construction cost of the highway will come up to 27635 Crore.

The 193 Kilometers of Six Lane Road will cost 8372 Crore and Four Lane Road will cost 12212 Crore. Some of the land passing through forest lands and tunnels to be laid makes it a difficult project. These tunnels will alone cost 5000 Crore. The state had submitted the DPR of this project to the central government for its assistance.
