Naidu’s Expansion Plans Raises Hopes of MLAs

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu hinted about his cabinet expansion for the first time. Naidu stated that his team will get three more additions very soon. AP can have up to 25 Ministers and currently the strength of the cabinet is 20. The new additions with out any omissions will take the number to 23.

With Naidu’s announcement, speculations have began if his son, Nara Lokesh will be inducted in to the cabinet. Some of the MLAs who defected from YSR Congress are also expecting cabinet berths. It has to be seen if Naidu admits them or avoid unnecessary controversies by keeping them away.

Naidu’s cabinet currently do not have representation from Muslims and STs. If Social calculations are taken in to account, they will be accommodated. However Naidu did not reveal when that will happen. Some say it is likely in August but others say it will happen only in December.
