CBN Does Not Care About KCR’s Existence Any More!

Former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao recently addressed the media after a long gap. He spoke about delays in the Palamuru-Rangareddy Project. KCR stated he would no longer give time to the present government on the issue.

No KCR press meet ends without criticism of Chandrababu Naidu. The foundation of the TRS and later BRS was built on opposition to the Telugu Desam Party. Attacking Chandrababu Naidu has long been central to KCR’s political narrative.

KCR shaped his political rise by positioning Chandrababu Naidu as his primary rival. He may now believe this approach can revive his party in Telangana. However, Chandrababu Naidu appears largely indifferent to KCR at present.

KCR’s political journey can be divided into two phases. One was during the Telangana agitation, and the other during his nine years in power. In both periods, KCR held a relative advantage over Chandrababu Naidu.

The Telangana agitation peaked when Chandrababu Naidu was in the Opposition. The movement gained momentum during the time of late YSR. Chandrababu Naidu adopted a defensive stance with his Two eyes strategy.

Between 2014 and 2019, Chandrababu Naidu initially governed aggressively as Chief Minister. The Vote For Note issue later weakened his position. This shift allowed KCR to strengthen his influence further.

Ahead of the 2019 elections, KCR supported Jagan and played a role in the defeat of the TDP. From 2019 to 2023, Chandrababu Naidu remained politically vulnerable in Andhra Pradesh with only 23 seats.

During the same period, KCR worked to eliminate the TDP’s presence in Telangana. His efforts proved successful until 2023. However, the political tide has since turned against the BRS.

The BRS lost the 2023 Assembly elections. The Chandrababu Naidu factor significantly helped Revanth Reddy secure victory. Since then, the party has faced continuous electoral setbacks.

Chandrababu Naidu achieved a major political comeback in 2024. Meanwhile, the BRS continues to decline. Chandrababu Naidu now holds kingmaker status at the Centre.

KCR, on the other hand, is largely confined to his farmhouse. He struggles to counter Revanth Reddy in the Assembly. The contrast in their political standing is stark.

Chandrababu Naidu remains the longest serving Chief Minister of united AP. He is also likely to become the longest serving Chief Minister in the South. His role in IT development and job creation remains significant.

KCR now faces political uncertainty after losing a single election. His repeated criticism of Chandrababu Naidu carries little impact. The political contest appears effectively over.
