Naidu plays safe with RS Elections?

Rajya Sabha elections are going to turn interesting in Andhra Pradesh. A fourth candidate is expected to be in fray making the contest tough for YSR Congress. 17 YSR Congress MLAs who recently joined TDP, will be voting him and a support of 17 more MLAs is needed. Industrialist, Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy who is a big funder of YSR Congress until recently quit the party and will likely to contest now.

TDP seem to be playing a safe game here. The fourth candidate will contest as Independent so that it will not get the bad name even if he do not win. On the other side, YSR Congress already sent 40 of its MLAs to camps in Goa and Kerala to save them. But the ruling party is still confident of getting the needed support.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is keen on sending Vijaya Sai Reddy to Rajya Sabha in the party so as to ensure good relations with the Center. Naidu do not want that to happen at any cost. The announcement of TDP Rajya Sabha members is likely to happen by evening. One seat is likely to go to BJP i.e., Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.
