Will Naidu Take KCR’s Route to Solve His Problem?

Telangana government is gearing up to convene a Special Assembly session to take up the reservations issue for Muslims and Scheduled Tribes. Telangana government has got the reports of two commissions appointed for this purpose. The commissions recommended 12% reservations to Muslims and 9-10% reservations to STs.

If these recommendations are executed, reservations will go up to 61-62%. Tamil Nadu has reservations of 69% by bringing in a special act and getting the reservations in Section 9 of Indian Constitution which is immune to Law intervention. So, KCR is planning to take the same route to execute the most difficult promise of TRS in the last elections.

The Assembly would pass a resolution for the same and send it to center. If the center approves that, it will help TRS in that sections. If center sits on it, TRS will put the blame on center and will still claim credit for at least trying. There are reports that Chandrababu Naidu will also do the same on Kapu Reservations issue.

Kapu Strongman Mudragada Padmannabham is warning of one more agitation if the issue is not resolved by this month-end. The state government until now did its level best to stop the issue being a law and order problem. So, Naidu is not in a mood of taking any chances now as such scenario will send wrong signals to investors coming to the state.
