No Place for Rebels: Chandrababu’s Warning

Chandrababu Warns TDP Rebels Ahead Polls

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has issued a strong warning to party rebels ahead of the local body elections. He made it clear that leaders who defy the party’s official decisions and contest independently will face disciplinary action.

During a teleconference with MPs, ministers, MLAs and senior party leaders, Chandrababu reviewed the election preparations and directed the leadership to resolve rebel nominations quickly. He also asked officials to issue B-forms to approved candidates without delay.

With the TDP, Jana Sena and BJP contesting as an alliance, Naidu stressed that coordination between the three parties was essential. He urged them to choose candidates based on their public support and chances of winning rather than personal interests.

Chandrababu Targets Better Results Than 2024

Naidu has set a clear target for the local elections. The alliance must perform better than the 57 per cent strike rate achieved in the general elections, he told party leaders.

He called for intensive door-to-door campaigning and asked leaders to explain the government’s welfare and development programmes to voters. He also reminded them that public service and regular contact with people are essential for political growth.

Naidu said he would remain actively involved as both Chief Minister and TDP president until the local elections were completed. He expects ministers and MLAs to work on the ground alongside party workers.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the allocation of 11 corporations to 11 social groups, saying the move was intended to give different communities a greater share in political power.
