Babu Really Neglecting Vizag?

From the past few days, few Newspaper reports suggests that Chandrababu Naidu’s focus on Amaravati is derailing Visakhapatnam Metro Rail Project. These reports will definitely worry Uttarandhra people but then is Naidu really neglecting them? Vizag Metro Rail is turning increasingly difficult because of Center’s reluctance to help the state.

In the last budget, Center had just allotted 5 Lakhs for the project. And on the other side, Amaravati Metro Rail Project is making decent progress because the project is much easier to implement at this stage where there are only nominal land acquisition issues. More over connectivity to the Capital city is important to be planned at this stage or else it can be a problem to implement when the population swells. We are already seeing that in Hyderabad.

Amaravati Metro is being funded by foreign agencies. But then Vizag Metro also can not be carried on similar basis due to FRBM limits which limits loans of the state. The state government is keen on getting Center’s help for Vizag Metro and hoping that they would do that because Vizag voted to BJP.
