Power Tariff to Go Down, Thanks to Chandrababu

AP CM Chandrababu has given another festival gift to the people of Andhra Pradesh by reducing power tariffs. During Jagan’s term, electricity charges were hiked 11 times under what was described as a ‘tru up’.

Chandrababu had promised to cut power tariffs if voted to power. Staying true to his word, he announced a reduction in bills just 15 months after taking charge, which is now being called a ‘tru down’.

A key reason for this change was saving Rs 1000 crore by avoiding unnecessary power purchases. This allowed the government to cut electricity costs and also provide subsidies for handloom workers and salons.

While Jagan had bought power for personal reasons and burdened citizens with higher bills, Chandrababu’s decision has brought relief across Andhra Pradesh. His move is being welcomed as a positive step for the state.

The government had initially planned to announce the tariff cut in the Legislative Council. However, the session was disrupted as YCP members created chaos over coffee, preventing a formal declaration.
