Changes for Amaravati Assembly design?

Andhra Pradesh government is mulling to make changes in the concept plan given for Amaravati Government Complex submitted by Maki and Associates. The Concept Plan is already in Public domain and the government has invited any suggestions and changes for the Concept plan. The major complaint is coming regarding the design of the Assembly.

Many people are saying that the design is not in accordance with Telugu culture and not to the standards of the iconic buildings. Government is thinking on the lines to change the design of this building. The government may replace the building from other designs received from other architects.

The government also instructed Maki and Associates to see if they come up with the change in the design of the building. The detailed structure reports of these buildings will be completed by April 2016 and the tenders will be called and finalized by February the next year. The government is keen to start the construction of the iconic buildings by May – 2017 and complete it by December – 2018.
