Cherlapally Jail: 24×7 Party Time for Prisoners

Cherlapalli Jail in Telangana is proving to be a holiday resort for the inmates who includes dreaded gangsters. All that they have to do is bribe the lower officials of the jail and they can get whaterver they need – Biryani, Liquor etc. Officials provide their mobile phone to small prisoners on some payment whenever they want.

Big prisoners who are ready to shell big money can maintain a phone of their own. Recently higher officials have come to know about this and shifted 6 Gangsters, 6 Rowdy sheeters to jails in Warangal, Adilabad and Nizamabad districts.

Keeping CC cameras in each barrack. Installing Jammers. Luggage and body scanners at jail entrances will keep these irregularities in check but officials are ignoring it for several years citing funds crunch. It is said that government is also not caring to correct these so as to benefit their loyal prisoners who at times work for the party. Most of the inmates of Cherlapally jail were arrested on charges of settlements, doing Rowdyism, encroachments etc and many of them say giving a share to local politicians is always mandatory.
