Chinese Company Ahead in Corona Vaccine Race

According to the WHO, Research is going on in 70 vaccines across the globe. Three candidates are being tested in Human trials. An experimental vaccine developed by Hong Kong-listed CanSino Biologics Inc. and the Beijing Institute of Biotechnology, which is in phase 2 had made more progress than any other vaccine.

The other two being tested in humans are treatments developed separately by U.S. drugmakers Moderna Inc. and Inovio Pharmaceuticals Inc. Usually, Vaccines take around 10-15 years to be available but countries are allowing to skip elaborate Animal trials to speed up the process.

Even then, the vaccine will take at least a year, WHO opines. Researchers at Oxford claims to develop the vaccine by September. That is the earliest claim so far. Across the globe, there are 2.79 Million cases with around 196K deaths. With more than half of the World in a Lockdown, there is an impending Recession, experts warn.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of cases in India are 24,506.
