Chittoor Mayor Shot dead

Chittoor Mayor Katari Anuradha was shot dead this afternoon. Sources say that four unidentified men arrived at Chittoor Corporation premises and fired two rounds at her. Anuradha was spot dead while her husband was attacked with knives.

Mohan was immediately shifted to the local Government hospital and he is very seriously injured. Doctors say his condition is very serious. The unidentified men fled from the area by climbing down the gates. This incident left the locals terrified.

TDP won Chittoor corporation in the elections in July 2014. Anuradha was made the Mayor by TDP back then. There is a rivalry between former MLA CK Babu and Anuradha family. Police are looking at the angle if the rivalry got some thing to do with this murder.
