The people of Tamil Nadu have collectively elected a new chief minister in the form of Thalapathy Vijay. They gave a strong verdict against the conventional DMK and AIDMK parties which have been in power for the last four tickets in Tamil Nadu.
Now, Vijay, who has taken charge as the new chief minister of Tamil Nadu has jumped to action already and has enforced his first major measure.
In the first order of duty, Thalapathy Vijay has instructed the chief minister’s office to shut down over 700 liquor shops that are in operation near public places.
The latest communication from the chief minister’s office of Tamil Nadu confirms that “Considering public welfare, 717 liquor retail sales shops located up to 500 meters away from places of worship, educational institutions, and bus stands.”
This is a pretty strong measure taken by the Tamil Nadu government under the leadership of Vijay with regard to liquor restriction, which was one of the principal promises made by Vijay.
Reducing the supply of liquor in public places will ultimately show a positive effect on the reduced consumption, and this is what the new chief minister is aiming for. He has made his intentions very clear already.
