Confusion continues over AP Formation day

Andhra Pradesh government had decided to stay away from celebrating the state formation day for the second consecutive year following the bifurcation. The 58 years long tradition was discontinued by the government as the then state is no longer existing today.

The state government thought of celebrating June 2nd as the formation day but following criticism of celebrating the bifurcation, the state government organized ‘Nava Nirman Deeksha’ by asking all government employees and people to take a pledge to rebuild the state.

On the other side, there are few people who are not happy with leaving out November 1st celebration as they say it amounts to ignoring the supreme sacrifice Potti Sree Ramulu who laid his life for the state formation.
