Two Dy CMs, One Common Agenda!

The grand old party of India had managed to capture power in Karnataka and Telangana. Both CMs are under high pressure to perform as Chandrababu of neighbouring Andhra Pradesh are racing ahead with double-engine government. Maharashtra and Gujarat too are racing past.

While Siddaramaiah is under severe backlash for being unable to get Google data center to Karnataka, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy is usurping acres of land all in the name of development. Currently, his grandiose plans for Gandhi Sarovar as a part of Musi Rejuvenation Project is drawing criticism from both opposition parties and citizens of Telangana.

In Karnataka, Deputy CM DK Shiv Kumar has his eyes on the CM post. While maintaining that it is in the hands of the High Command to decide the CM, Shiv Kumar is mobilizing MLAs to get a clear majority over Siddaramaiah. Bengaluru’s image as a tech capital of India took a beating under him. The MLAs are just waiting for the right time to topple him.

In Telangana, the resentment is not out in the open. The CM Revanth Reddy recently claimed he will be in power for the next 10 years. But that could come at a cost fear many. While he seems to be emulating his former boss Chandrababu in announcing big projects right in the heart of Hyderabad city, it is mostly about realty sharks. No big industry has come to Telangana and like Karnataka, Telangana too lost out on Google’s data center.

Hence there is dissatisfaction brewing. Then there is the big black mark that Revanth Reddy carries. He is not a Congress veteran and many attribute the increasing dominance of Andhra leaders in Telangana matters to him.

So, in the league to become a CM is Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka. He is not brazen like DK Shiv Kumar, but Congress insiders say he is moving his pawns slowly but steadily to sit in the top post some day. Then of course, there is the caste equation that the Congress High Command pushes forth for votes.

Now, the meeting between DK Shiv Kumar and Bhatti Vikramarka is being seen by many as a meeting between two probable CMs of future.
