Corruption Survey: India Stands High

Transparency International conducted corruption analysis survey over the Asian countries and found that India nails the corruption and stands the highest in bribing its officials among sixteen Asia Pacific countries.

The report says that seven in ten Indians have had bribed the officials to get the services done. It is a little surprise to see that the poor are paying bribe more than the rich in India, whereas, in other countries, rich are spending their money in the form of the bribe than the poor, to get their services done faster and efficiently.

While most of the community is paying the bribe, 63% of the respondents of India still think that they have the power to fight the bribery and that government is positive in eradicating the corruption. On the other hand, 40 of them opinionated that corruption has increased over the last year.

So, People have the power to condemn the corruption and yet they continue to pay the bribe. Is it?
