Court Summons: Jagan’s Double Dilemma!

The CBI and ED court have issued summons to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to appear before it on September 22nd in the Vanpic case. This pertains to new charge sheets filed by the CBI and the ED making Jagan the Prime accused in the case. Accused No.2 Vijayasai Reddy is also issued the summons.

Now, all eyes are on Jagan to see if he will attend the court or not. After coming to power, Jagan has only attended the court once and has been filing relaxation petitions citing his busy schedule. But then, things are slightly different now as Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju has filed a petition to cancel the bail citing the Chief Minister’s non-co-operation to the trial.

So, attending the court may be a political embarrassment, and choosing not to attend will mean the courts will have all reasons to be angry. The decision to attend the court on September 22nd will depend on how the court reacts on August 25th which is when a final decision about RRR’s petition is expected.

The Ruling party does not expect the bail to be canceled but there are chances of the court making some critical comments and observations, they feel. In such a case, Jagan will have to co-operate with the trial to be on the safe side.
