Once again, Jagan’s government has extended a warm welcome to the renowned industrialist Gautam Adani, showing him privileges that go beyond his official status. Adani was provided with a police escort and received clearance at traffic junctions during his recent visit to Vijayawada.

On Thursday, Adani arrived in Vijayawada via a special flight from Ahmedabad, landing at Gannavaram airport at 5:50 pm. He was accompanied by two staff members, and his companies’ staff welcomed him at the airport. After a brief stay at a luxury hotel, he proceeded directly to the residence of Chief Minister Jagan in Tadepalli, where the Jagan family extended a warm welcome, and they all dined together.

During his visit, Adani spent more than two hours at Jagan’s residence, and they departed Tadepalli at 9:15 pm, returning via a special flight at 9:45 pm. It is rumored that their discussions centered around potential business transactions.

This is not the first time that Gautam Adani, one of the country’s leading industrialists, has quietly visited the state and conducted private meetings with the Chief Minister.

When industrialists of such prominence visit the state to discuss investments and other matters with the Chief Minister, it is expected that an official announcement should be made, and relevant ministers and officials should be present at the meeting.

However, in the case of Adani’s meetings with Jagan, they have been treated as private affairs. This has led to criticisms that Jagan’s government is becoming increasingly ‘Adani-friendly.’

Since the YCP came to power, Adani has been involved in various projects, including the takeover of Krishnapatnam port and Gangavaram port, as well as being awarded contracts for solar, wind, and pumped storage power generation projects. Adani was also given the contract for installing smart electricity meters in urban homes.
