Shocking: Demonetization to Shoot Real Estate Prices?

Contrary to the popular belief of Real Estate Slowdown, CREDAI expects that the Realty prices may go up by 20 percent this year post-demonetization. This is due to the fact that Builders are going slow on new launches and the supply falls below the demand leading to the price hike.

The introduction of a new regulatory bill, Goods and Service Tax (GST) and high input cost may also act as the reasons. Due to all these, the developers will be forced to take up smaller and limited number of real estate projects.

On the other side, the demand will certainly go up due to the cut in the lending rates for Housing Loans and more interest cuts likely. It has to be seen where this leads – Real Estate booming or Real Estate clamping down in the next few months.
