Crucial Development in CM Jagan’s Cases

A crucial development has happened in Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy‘s disproportionate assets cases. The ED court had decided to hear the charge sheets filed in the ED cases.

The counsel representing the Chief Minister argued that they should be heard only after the CBI charge sheets were disposed of.

However, the ED lawyers argued that would delay the cases and the allegations in both the cases are different. The CBI cases are regarding quid-pro-quo cases while ED cases are about money-laundering and other violations of laws.

The court has agreed with the view of ED and clarified that it will hear the cases first. The next hearing is posted on the 21st of this month. This decision of the court will speed up the trial. Jagan was issued a summons to attend the court today but he did not turn up.

The counsel of Jagan filed an exemption petition citing that the Chief Minister is busy in a government program i.e., the launch of Amma Vodi’s new installment in Nellore.
