Cyclone Arnab has caused widespread damage across coastal Andhra Pradesh, bringing extremely heavy rainfall, strong winds and power disruptions. Seven deaths have been reported from different districts, although the statewide toll is yet to be officially confirmed.
The cyclone crossed the Andhra Pradesh coast on Wednesday, October 28, affecting Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Anakapalli, Srikakulam and the Godavari districts. Several areas experienced flooding, uprooted trees, damaged electricity poles and blocked roads.

Meanwhile, reports of cyclone-related fatalities have emerged from Visakhapatnam, West Godavari, Konaseema and Anakapalli districts.
In Visakhapatnam, two women were reportedly killed in separate incidents involving fallen electricity poles, including one identified as K. Madhavi in Balajinagar.
Two deaths were reported from Bhimavaram in West Godavari district. Chokka Kishore, 45, reportedly died after a tree fell near Church Centre, while Rambabu, 34, was killed when an electricity pole collapsed in Bondadavariveedhi.
In Konaseema district, an elderly woman reportedly died in Prakashpuram village of Sakhinetipalli mandal. Another woman, identified as Kollu Venkayamma, reportedly died after her hut collapsed during heavy rain and strong winds.
A seventh death was reported from Yelamanchili in Anakapalli district, where a woman allegedly came into contact with a live electricity wire that had fallen near her house.
The cyclone also damaged houses, shops, roads and power infrastructure across several coastal districts. Emergency teams have been clearing fallen trees and restoring electricity supply.
The IMD said Cyclone Arnab weakened into a severe cyclonic storm after crossing the coast. However, heavy rainfall and strong winds remained a concern in parts of Andhra Pradesh as the system moved inland.
